SITE WALK
SEPTEMBER 7, 2010
Present were: Chair Robb Linde, Skip DiCamillo, Janet Bechtel, Sabine O’Donnell, and Dave McCulloch.
1. Donna Scott – 43-1 Saunders Hollow Road – Permit for existing deck
The commission walked the property and observed the applicant’s plantings and
made the following suggestions:
a. Establish a 20 ft buffer along the brook/stream that is to be mowed no
more than once a year.
b. Plant additional shrubs at the corner of the hot tub to discourage pedestrian traffic between hot tub and brook/stream.
c. Plant ground cover such as pachysandra below the hot tub to stabilize the ground.
The commission members stated that the applicant did not need to attend the September meeting.
2. Talcott Farm Association – Talcott Farm Road and Catbriar Lane.
Removal of trees.
The commission walked the property and observed the trees that were proposed to be removed. The commission asked the applicant to obtain a report from a licensed arborist describing the condition of the trees and the rationale for their removal.
